My Work At Global Payments

Designed interactive experiences for my users on a completely new device! I gained valuable insights into how users interact with POS devices and designed payment flows that met user expectations.
Researched restaurant trends and tipping culture in America to design seamless flows that incorporated various tipping styles for a delightful experience.
Designed interactive user flows and edge cases that helped merchants in setting up different features on devices.

My Impact

Conducted comprehensive UX Audits to streamline designs, that reduced usability issues and enhanced accessibility which improved consistency in designs.

Adapted layouts for multilingual support and responsive design. Reduced layout related-usability errors by 100% to ensure seamless usability across different screen sizes and languages. Conducted responsive testing to reduce readability issues and improve accessibility

Collaborated with an external QA team to conduct usability testing to validate designs and refine the interface that improved task completion rates

Learnings

Focussing on the problems rather than coming up with creative solutions. I learnt how to dig deep into the problem and test out multiple iterations instead of perfecting one solution.

Accessibility should be planned for from the very beginning and should be explicitly conveyed to developers and well-defined in designs. In fact, 2/3rds of accessibility issues that end up in production originate in the design phase.

Designing for multiple devices should be well-documented and defined in a document to help streamline design and developer processes to be able to focus on prdouct decisions.

My overall Experience

My year at Global Payments has enabled me to enhance my skills as a multi-disciplinary UX Designer. I had the privilege of exploring the payments domain and understand the problems underlying it. My experience was filled with learning new things, meeting incredible people, and being bold and creative. I had the privilege of working with some of the most talented and kind-hearted people during my time here. I learned and grew a lot as a designer.
